Follow these steps to download, install, setup, and use Zotero.
Close Microsoft Word before beginning installation to ensure that the plugin installs correctly.
1. Go to Zotero.org.
2. Create a Zotero account and log in.
3. Download the software.
If you’re using an Apple Silicon Mac and do an in-app upgrade from Zotero 6, Zotero 7 will continue to run under Rosetta immediately after updating, so restart it for native performance.
Run from Download folder.
You will be prompted to move the Zotero.dmg file into the Applications folder. 
Open Launchpad to locate the software.
The Zotero Connector for Safari is bundled with Zotero. You can enable it from the Extensions pane in the Safari settings.

In Extensions allow the Zotero Connector to read information form all web pages. Help with Zotero Connector.
Restart Zote
ro to activate the Word plugin. The plugin allows Word to import citations from Zotero.
