Microsoft Edge Read Aloud for ProQuest eBooks

  • In the Microsoft Edge browser, locate a ProQuest eBook Central title in your Library eReserves or a library search.
  • Create your personal ProQuest account and sign in.

  • Go to Settings and Profile.
  • Scroll down and Enable Text Only Mode.
  • You can also choose Open Dyslexic Typeface.
  • Agree to ProQuest's Privacy and Terms of Service.
  • Save your changes.

  • Open the book and choose Read Online to open the text only version designed to work with screen readers.

  • Advance to the section you need to read.
  • Right-click and choose Read Aloud from the dropdown.

  • Select Voice Options in the upper right corner of the screen to change the voice and speed.
